Yes, it's official...Troy is now a 1st grade teacher at Sunset Elementary! Beyond the thrill of having his first classroom, a steady income, etc...we were most excited about the way God revealed his plan.
Our church was taking the youth group to do a service project in one of the poorest communities in Washington, and Troy of course went with. On Monday, I found out that he was a finalist for the 1st grade position - a job that he hadn't even applied for! He had his application in for a 2nd position, one that he also got a call to interview for! Troy came home early from the service project to interview. We had to switch gears and pray, Lord, WHICH job?? On the way to the interview for the 1st grade job, he turned to the Christian radio station just as they were finishing reading a verse (he didn't catch which one). But the host went on to explain that this verse calls us to go out of our comfort zones, to areas where we can be stretched and challenged and be in situations where we can further the kindgom. Troy just thought, are you kidding??? That was his answer. He came home encouraged from the interview...and then he got the call offering him the job!
We are constantly reminded of how faithful the Lord is if we are willing to trust and wait for his timing. This was a clear example of that. So, THANK YOU, God! Now on to the exciting challenge of getting Troy's 1st classroom ready!
